Wedding  Guest  Book  with  Cover  Illustration

This landscape-format blank book is roughly 7"x11" with blank pages.  The pages are acid-free sketchpaper since this couple wanted people to be able to write AND draw in their guest book.  The customer was a talented illustrator and sent me the illustration of her and her husband-to-be on CD.  This image was then reproduced on water and fade-resistant Epson pearl finish photo paper with a minumum 25 year print life.  The book cover is dark brown linen bookcloth over binder's board.  Since cloth does not stretch much, you cannot do raised designs with cloth, but it did stretch just enough to make a large recessed window on the front cover so that the illustration would be slightly inset and therefore slightly protected from scratches.  The illustration was permanently and securely mounted in this recessed area with acid-free and archival double-sided adhesive.  The book has a wide, dark brown satin ribbon page marker and was stamped with the couples' names and wedding date (along with a decoration) on the spine.  The back cover was stamped with a quote chosen by the customer.  All was done with moveable metal type, hot foil stamping, and satin-finish copper stamping foil.  The endpapers were a complimentary black and brown mottled Nepalese handmade paper (which I can unfortunately no longer stock).

A book like this would cost around $130.
