Two  Tone  Cloth  Wedding Guest  Book  with  Ferns,  Matching  Album,  &  Clamshell  Box

This guest book was created for a relative who was having a very hands-on wedding.  She and her fiance and their friends were making everything from the cake to the centerpieces.  It was truly one of the loveliest weddings I've ever attended!  I wanted to make this couple a guest book that was muted and reflected their love of nature.  I chose two colors of cloth along with pewter stamping foil, a pewter ribbon, and an asymmetrical front and back cover design.  Happily, the loved it!  The pages were lined and the guests wrote as much as they wanted on each page.  Still, there were plenty of blank pages after the reception so Sara & Andy took the book with them on their camping trip honeymoon to use as a journal which I thought was a great way to use some of those extra blank pages.

Several years after the wedding, Sara contacted me for a matching album and clamshell box to hold both books.  She had to mail the guest book back to me since I can't make a box without measuring the book that will go inside it.  But she was willing.  Thankfully, I just happened to have ONE LAST piece of that sage green Japanese book cloth that I used on the guest book.  I used that entire last piece on the album (so the box had to be entirely gray-tan linen).  The album has 50 pages with room to mount photos on both sides of every page.  The pages are 12" tall by 10" wide.  The album is made to match the guest book.  The clamshell box was created to hold both books.  With books of such different sizes, it is necessary to make an "insert" for the smaller book so that it won't slide around.  (See photos below.)

I think this makes a very nice set.  I love the muted colors.

A book, album, and box set like this would cost around $530.  That's $150 for the guest book, $160 for the box, and $220 for the album.
