This was such a sweet & touching project.
My customer contacted me to create a small photo album for photos of a beloved dog who had recently passed away.  She sent me photos of the dog and I translated a photo first into a sketch, and then into a raised design covered with reddish-brown pigskin leather (the closest leather color I could find to the color of the dog's fur).  The dog's eye was created from a separate piece of black leather inset with a tiny speck of white leather for the highlight
This photo album has 50 pages that are 8" square.  There is spacing added to the spine to allow for room for one photo on each page.
The back cover has a quote stamped in gold beneath a blind stamped paw print (blind stamping works well on SOME types of leather where a metal die is heated and pressed into the surface of the leather without using any foil).  The name of the dog is stamped in gold on the front cover with the dog's initials and dates stamped on the spine.  The cover is predominantly dark brown goatskin leather.
I hope this album will help this couple hold onto their memories of this special member of their family.

A book like this would cost around $320.
