The  Conqueror  Series

This custom binding was created for a fan fiction author.  This was a HUGE book; almost 4 inches thick!  Part of the large amount of time invested in this book was the result of producing the pages myself (reformatting them, printing them out, and having two-sided copies of the whole thing printed on nice paper).  The book was formatted to be longer and thinner than a regular book to reinforce the idea of a scroll shape.  This story was set in ancient Greece and the design fits with that theme.  This is a 3-part book and the title page for each part was printed in Greek (I had it translated) as well as English, printed on silver paper, and stamped in red with various ancient designs that corresponded to the story.  The endpapers were a lovely marbled black with silver swirls (unfortunately, this endpaper is no longer available for use on future projects).  The cover was predominantly black pigskin leather.  There is a raised design in the lower corner of the back cover that depicts a rosebud.  The cover has a raised slightly off-white scroll made of kangaroo leather and stamped with the title, author, and decorations in silver.  The scroll spindles are birch wood dowels that were shaped by hand with a  router to form them into scroll ends.  The wood was then silver-leafed over a traditional red basecoat.  The spine of the book has raised cords and more decoration.  A custom clamshell box was made to protect the cover.  Inside the box there were raised and recessed areas to accommodate the raised and recessed areas of the book.  The box was stamped with foil decorations on the outside including a line of ancient Greek warships, a Greek column, and the goddess Athena on the back cover.  There were so many steps to this labor of love!

Something of this size and complexity would need to be quoted on a per-order basis and a CD or electronic file of the pages all formatted and ready to be printed out would need to be provided.
