School of Fish Journal ~

My last pre-made "school of fish" book has been sold and this book is now available by custom-order only. This is good news for you though since with a custom order, you get to choose everything from number of pages (if it's over 100 pages, the price will be a bit more than the price listed below), to the color of the leather for the cover, and you can tell me about any additional lettering you might want stamped on this cover in a foil color or blind stamped the way the fish are. Here are some details about this book:
Page size: 8.5" x 11"
100 lined pages of acid-free, archival paper in off white.
Pages are handsewn in signatures with cotton thread (by sewing the book this way, it will lay open completely flat).
Endpapers are archival oatmeal.
Cover is made of burgundy Sokoto goatskin leather (slightly darker in person that it looks in the above photos) over binder's board.
Sokoto goatskin leather feels wonderful and has a great soft, dull finish, but the non-glossy surface is near-impossible to clean. Scuffs and marks that accumulate over time will add to the charm of the book. Marks from an ink pen on the cover, for example, could not be removed.
"School of Fish" design is blind stamped (without foil) into the leather using hot foil stamping techniques. (See close-up above) The blind stamped fish are darker than the surrounding leather and you can feel that they are deeply pressed into the surface of the cover.
Made with all archival adhesives.
This is an entirely handmade book.
This book would make a great journal (I even had one couple use this book for a wedding guest book). Unlike the fish hook book, this book COULD be easily tossed in a backpack to take along on a trip.
