Rustic  Multi-Toned  Brown  Goatskin  Leather  Journal  with  Feather  Motif

After seeing my "Anita's Journal" on the gallery page of my website, this customer contacted me to create something with the same look, only with a feather motif.  This book has 100 pages that are 6" wide by 9" tall.  The book is roughly 1/2" thick.  The cover is made up of many different shades of goatskin leather.  The front cover shows the natural, uneven edges of the pieces of leather while the back cover has several pieces inlaid flat against eachother.  The lower front corner of the front cover is covered with a mottled black and brown Nepalese paper.
A custom metal die of a feather image was ordered and used to blind stamp the feather multiple times across the front & back cover as if it were floating.  The feather on the spine was stamped using dark brown stamping pigment...blind stamping shows up differently on different types and colors of leather and the blind stamped feather on the spine did not show up well enough until it was stamped with dark brown pigment.  The title of the book is  blind stamped on the spine as well as a name on the lower back cover.
This book is one-of-a-kind since leathers rarely have exactly the same color and the shapes of the natural edges on the leather would vary.

A book like this would cost around $285 PLUS the cost of any custom dies necesary (in this case, the feather die had to be ordered to complete this cover).
