Navy  Change  of  Command  Guest  Book

This guest book was created for a naval change of command ceremony.  It was a slightly oversized book at 12" square.  Yet it was thin with only 25 pages.  The change of command involved an assignment to the island of Sicily, so the outline of Sicily appears on the cover as a raised design with the port of Catania and the capitol of Palermo marked with stars and the names of the towns in gold.  The main feature of this cover is the Change of Command coin.  The front of the coin is permanently mounted in a recessed circle in the center of the island.  The back of the coin is mounted in a recessed circle on the back cover with a star above it and a quote beneath it.  This book also has dark blue gold and silver marbled endpapers, a dark blue ribbon page marker, and the cover is made with navy blue pigskin leather.  The color really set off the coins well!  The cover has a raised center panel giving the edge of the cover a "framed" look.

A book like this would cost around $250
