Navy Vellum Wedding Guest Book This customer wanted a classical-looking landscape-format guest book with a stylized ivy design. Due to the custom page size, the pages were completely blank unlined off-white archival paper. This cover has a raised panel on the front and back covers giving it a "framed" look at the edges. The navy vellum bookcloth used for the cover was stamped with the couple's name in silver foil as well as a Bible quote they chose. This customer sent me the artwork for the stylized "scrolled" ivy design and a custom metal die was made so that it could be stamped on the cover in pewter foil. In this case, the customer did not have to pay for the die since it was a rather nice and generic decoration that I felt I could use again in the future. Once in awhile, if I think I can re-use your decoration on other projects and if you are okay with that, I will pay the cost of the die, but it really depends on the decoration. This decoration was used again on the back cover of the book (I really like to add SOME sort of detail to the back cover if at all possible). On the spine, the ivy decoration was too large so I used a small decoration I already had to divide the couple's names and wedding date. A pewter ribbon page marker was also added that matched the color of the cover type. A book like this would cost around $120 EXCLUDING the cost of the custom die. |
