Lily  Album  and  Journal  Set

This journal and album set was commissioned by Lily's new parents!  They chose the charcoal linen bookcloth.  The covers feature a circle of raised glass (antique pocket watch glass over 100 years old) over botanical drawings of Lily of the Valley flowers.  The spines are stamped very simply with a one or two flower shapes in silver (to imply volume I and volume II).  One book is a journal with blank lined pages for the family to record their thoughts and the other book is an album with heavy, archival, scrapbook-style pages where photos can be mounted using the included self-stick photo corners.  Each book had lovely handmade endpapers in either green or blue with silver swirls (unfortunately, this marbled paper is no longer available).  Each book had its own custom-made clamshell box to protect the glass on the covers and each box was lined with the same color of silver-swirled paper to coordinate with the book.  Each box was stamped on the spine with the same decorations as the book that fit into it (with one or two flowers).  The stamping was the only decoration on the charcoal gray clamshell boxes.  Then, both closed clamshell boxes fit into one charcoal gray bookcloth slipcase.  I love this set; it is so sophisticated in the charcoal gray (definitely not your traditional baby colors!) and yet it is very sweet with the lily of the valley botanical drawings.

This set which includes a journal, an album, two clamshell boxes, and a slipcase cost approximately $825.
