Ladybug Baby Photo Album and Clamshell Box
This baby album was created for a couple's first daughter who they called "Ladybug". They wanted both stamped designs and a recessed design on the cover. This album has 25 off-white pages with room for photos to be mounted on both sides of every page. The pages are 10" tall by 8" wide. I dislike making baby books in traditonal light blue and pink baby colors. So I was happy to have the chance to make a black and red baby book! The cover is black pigskin leather with a recessed ladybug image carved into the front and back covers. A smaller version of this ladybug was made into a metal die so that it could be stamped repeatedly across the cover of the book in red foil and gold foil along with the baby's name. This customer was very specific about what they wanted and what color they wanted it to be. I knew there was a bit of a disagreement between husband and wife; he wanted a black cover and she was leaning towards a red one. He won out, but I made them a red clamshell box to hold the album. The small ladybug image is available for use on future projects since I kept the die.
An album and box set like this would cost around $425.
