I absolutely Love it!!! What a fantastic and professional job you did in crafting my book! The leather you got from Scotland is great in quality and color, and has that good fragrance of quality leather....you sure know how to do your research and track something down. I am really pleased with the endpaper that you chose, it goes so well with the book!
I love the slight aging you did on it. Like Goldie Locks and the three bears, it is just right!
Boy, is the book thick and heavy...Love it!
The binding allows the book to operate so smoothly. It is going to be an absolute pleasure to write in it.
It sure did not take you long to make it after we worked out all the details...I think we must have a record in
exchanged emails in the planning of this book, and thanks so much again for the test papers you sent me, it allowed me to choose the exact color and weight of paper for the book. You were/are so accommodating and meticulous in making sure I got what I wanted...and I am very particular...a perfectionist to be precise...and you have more than met my expectations!!!

The books arrived....30 minutes ago. It was like unwrapping delicate treasures that took me so long. Bravo on the packing. Fort Knox. They arrived safe and sound.
The first one I unwrapped floored me. My first words were OH MY GOD! when I saw the staff...the
intricacies in it are incredible. And, of course, the leather...I just grinned like an idiot.
Then the X&G was next to be opened. The work you do is fantastic. I loved how they intertwined.
Finally I slowly opened the lion head. Was I ever surprised. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is fantastic.
I'm glad you thought of doing the eyes in gems. It looks soooo cool.
The chains make it perfect for the story. I can't believe you made the links. Wow!
I'm just going to go sit and stare at them awhile...

What a wonderful book. Honestly. And I am not all that easy to impress. The size is monumental as you said. I think its best quality is the workmanship that obviously went into it. It really is incredible.
I very much liked the dedication page, and thank you for that. One of a kind, huh? LOL... How much would it cost me to have you never build another one like it for anyone?
I really do like it, and so did my family. It is almost overwhelming trying to think of enough to begin to fill something like that. I guess I have a lifetime... Wish me a long one.
I will write more when I can, but I did want to let you know that it arrived and that I was extremely pleased. It will be treasured for a long time to come.

Postman came to my door this afternoon, with a big box. Didn't make anything of it, as I'm always taking in parcels for next door.
As the postman started to walk away, I looked down at the box, and saw your name.
Scared the poor postman to death, as I let rip with a shriek when I realised what I was holding LOL.
I apologized to the poor man, he just laughed, gave a wave and went about his business.
Wow!!!!!!!!!! What can I say, I am speechless Tedra. I will say it bought tears to my eyes, as soon as I saw it. I know I told you what I wanted on it, but the way you've arranged it all is absolutely stunning. Actually I have a lump in my throat right now, trying to tell you how much I love the journal. You have an amazing talent, and I'm so glad I went ahead with this. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it, but I think when my story is complete and to my liking, I'm going to write it in my lovely journal. Or if the story isn't to long, I may ask for another journal :)).

The stamp colours, the placing of the orchids, the layout. Everything is just lovely.
Even the scroll you selected to split our names from the book title is such a perfect fit. And the raised panel design really gives them a distinct and elegant look.
I am also glad you chose to leave the quotes out on the back of the guest book. Looking back, it looked a bit tacky. And the back of the photo album: I love the movement of the orchids similar to what we had initially agreed on. But this time, it's a lot more clear. The layout enhances and emphasises the beauty of each of the deisgn element.
So, thank you so very much for your all hard work. I cannot wait to see them in the flesh. I will be looking and analyzing them endlessly, similar to when I received my invitations.... :-)

Nick and I just got home and the book was here, and oh my gosh, it is more beautiful than anything I could
ever imagine! It surpasses even what we hoped for! Tears came into my eyes when I first opened it!
Every single detail is completely perfect and the overall composition is so harmonious: the colors, the fabrics and textures, the ribbon, even the decorations add to the complete holistic flow. It exactly captures the feeling we want most to convey, that of peace and child-like joy and harmony. It's interesting, because both nick and I are musicians, and the little flower symbol you chose looks to us like a musical clef too!
The endpapers are a serendipity-- so gorgeous and an unexpected surprise, and completely in keeping with
the look of the book. The paper itself looks, feels and smells so lovely, and the fabric is exactly the hue I wished for, and feels so silky as well. It's amazing how the book looks so completely professional and perfect and clean, and at the same time how unique and organic and personalized also. The lettering is beautiful and perfect, the layout of the pictures is just right, and when nick saw the "hoover dam" on the back he grabbed me and danced me around the room out of joy! We also LOVE the colophon page and seeing how our book is one of a kind. Tedra, thank you so much. You are an incredible and consummate artist and I will recommend you to everyone I know! I am sure we will get amazing feedback at the wedding and I will keep you posted with new compliments and pictures! If all goes according to plan, in three or four years we will be commissioning a baby book from you....

I DID get it! Actually, I called my neighbor yesterday and asked her to keep an eye out for it. When it came she took it to her house, so I didn't get it until I got off work at 8:30! She asked if I would open it there because they were so interested by that point! Her husband even recognized it as being from Atlas Shrugged, so I think that was the true test! It is even more beautiful than we could have imagined! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the last page (can't remember now what you called it) and LOVE that you listed all the materials used, and what you wrote about us "commission[ing]" you. I think that the dedication looks really nice back there too. Tedra, it is just perfect! Words cannot express how delighted we are! Red Leather Wiccan Book of Shadows:
(Just so you know, mishaps DO sometimes occur. Here's what happened with one of my favorite books from this year: )
Dear Tedra--
The book of shadows for my wife arrived this morning. After collaborating for so long via email, it was exciting to see the finished project and find things that I knew to expect, since we've discussed them, but also find surprises, like the little design touches on the cover. Though it is a gift for my wife, I was excited to open it as if it were for me, and I wasn't disappointed: it was truly what I'd hoped it would be, an instant heirloom and something that will be treasured by my wife for her lifetime, and by our descendants for years thereafter. The lovely handwritten note you included to Leslie was a very thoughtful additional touch, and I can't wait for her to read it when I present the book to her on her birthday.
This whole process of collaborating by correspondence has been very rewarding, and is one I look forward to repeating at a future date. Having an artist and craftswoman help to refine and realize your vision is a pleasure. I look forward to completing the wooden chest that will house this treasure, and sending you photos of the finished presentation.
One quibble: on the dedication page, the line "Maiden, Mommy, Magu" somehow got typed "Maiden, Monny, Magu." Any way to fix that now, after the fact? An overlay sheet I can adhere to the dedication page to cover the misprint, perhaps? If not, I suppose I could consider it the "flaw" that some cultures intentionally interject into their art projects so that their souls do not get trapped in the finished work of art as a result of its perfection, but if there's a way to correct it, I'd sure like to.

(I'm not worried about my soul getting trapped...but I HATE knowing there is a book of mine out there with a mistake! A typo no less! In this case, I printed a new page and sent Greg very detailed instructions about how to remove the incorrect page and tip in the new one. He did this and gave the book to his wife for her birthday. Then ANOTHER typo was discovered on a very obvious section divider page [maybe I should stick with COMPLETELY blank books!]. He will be sending the book back to me to fix that one [since it is in a much more obvious location]. I hate that they have to send the book back to me, but I absolutely want to fix the mistake. I think I'm up to the challenge of replacing the page, and I have an X-acto blade. Happy to give it a shot. No problem fixing it after presentation, either.
It truly is a stunner. I can't wait to get it set into a century-old oak chest in a velvet-lined cavity, with all the ritual implements surrounding it. It's gonna take her breath away, which is what she does for me, still, even after three years of marriage.
It has been so much fun doing this project with you. I'm now thinking how we could create a beautiful wedding photo album. We've yet to get our pictures even sorted, and our daughter's about to be 2! So sad. Lives are far too busy, I fear.
I'd love to start noodling with ideas and options when you've attended to your other clients and are ready to do so. This was a very fun experience and I'm truly thrilled with the outcome.

Well, as you might imagine, Leslie was pretty blown away. I'm assured that tears are a good thing in this context, and there were quite a few of them. She sat down at once and read your note, the title page, the Wiccan Rede, the dedication, etc., and pored over every detail of the book. I just got in and have been absolutely entranced by your beautiful book. I knew it would be wonderful, but actually holding it and opening it and reading it is a whole new experience. The whole thing has such a very distinct "presence". It is so supple and warm and vibrant. The book itself is just the right size for my hand span too - I love books of this size! The colours seem to suit the subject matter of the story and the materials used very well.
Thank you so much for choosing the ripple effect for the outside design. I love bodies of water, and bodies of water in motion in particular . In terms of the story it is very apt. The fish hook is very apt too.
The craftsmanship of this seems to me to be consummate in every respect! This is by far the most beautiful thing I have ever owned (and as a compliment to my story is all the more precious to me) and its value to me is priceless . Now I must think of a way to "display" it so that it can be appreciated but safe - a welcome challenge!
There is so much about this that I love: the font, the gold lettering, the ginko leaf, the wonderful end papers, the scroll case, the perfect choice of pictures for the illustrations. I could babble forever. I probably shall!
