Wedding  Guest  Book  with  Central Park  Photograph

This wedding guest book was commissioned by a customer who wanted to commemorate the spot in Central Park where the couple became engaged.  This customer knew she wanted a muted cover so that the color photograph would stand out. She requested the gray-tan linen bookcloth and the pewter stamping foil.  I continued the theme with a wide pewter satin ribbon and dark gray/pewter endpapers.  There is a quote stamped under the photograph that is continued on the back cover of the book; what her fiancee said to her before the engagement which started "Meet me at Hernshead...." their favorite spot.  This customer wanted a very clean and modern look.  The type chosen for the stamping was a clean san-serif type style with minimal decoration (a small decorative line above the type on the front and back covers, and a single leaf stamped in silver dividing the lines of pewter type on the spine).  The customer sent me a high-quality photo file on CD and the photograph of Central Park was printed out on an Epson printer using fade and water-resistant, colorfast Epson Professional photo paper.  The photo was then permanently mounted into a shallow recess on the front cover. The recess in designed to protect the photo slightly from scratches.  I think this book achieved the goal of looking modern, clean, and spring-like even though none of the typical pastel spring colors were used.  The color photograph really pops against the neutral cover linen.

A book like this would cost around $160.
