Made for one of my Australian customers and modeled on a Book of Shadows design, this book has roughly 200 pages of unlined off-white A4 size paper.  The cover is black goatskin leather with raised bands on the spine (with blind stamped lines on each side of the every band).  The front cover features a raised Celtic knot design accented with gold foil leaf.  This book has handmade black, silver, and gold marbled endpapers.  My customer wanted the book to tie closed with ribbon ties, but I felt that ribbon ties would wear out quickly, so I talked her into letting me try metal clasps fabricated from sheet brass.  This book does have two ribbon pages markers (which will see less wear than ribbon ties would have).  The handmade brass clasps added a great deal of time & cost to this project, but I thought they worked well, would stand up over time, and I thought their triangular shape fit well with the triangular shape of the Celtic knot.

A book like this with the metal clasps would cost around $300.
