Custom Journal for Jewelry Artist with Sterling Silver Rings This little blank book was created for a Native American jewelry artist whose work I admire. I commissoned a piece from him several years ago and when I received the piece, I decided to use it as inspiration to create a small blank book for him. You can see me wearing the bracelet he made for me at the bottom of this page. Taking themes from that bracelet (the "stone" and attached silver rings among other things), I made a very long landscape-format blank book covered in black pigskin leather. Each "stone" was carved from individual pieces of binder's board before being attached in position on the cover. Cover lettering was added in pewter and silver stamping foils. I made three large jump rings from sterling silver wire and attached them through holes punched through the cover. This adds an element of movement that I really like in Aaron's jewelry work. This book has 210 pages that are 4 and 3/4 of an inch tall by 12" wide. If you would like to see more of Aaron's work, you can visit his website by clicking on the link below. A book like this would cost around $295. |
