Journal  for  British  Soldier  Serving  in  Afghanistan

I made a wedding guest book and album set for this couple (the orchid-motif guest book and album set on the gallery page) and was then contacted by the wife who wanted me to make a book for her husband before he was sent to fight in Afghanistan.  She wanted a book that was durable that he could take with him to record his experiences in the war.  This book needed to be portable, so it has 180 unlined pages that are 8" tall by 6" wide.  The cover is dark green pigskin leather. The cover features a raised image of Afghanistan with several of the larger cities labeled in gold foil.  My customer sent me the enameled British flag pin to permanently attach to the cover in the vicinity of the country where her husband was going to be stationed.  To keep with the military-colors theme, the ribbon page marker is a tan linen material.  This book has raised cords on the spine outlined with gold foil and the back cover features the military company's insignia and one of this soldier's favorite sayings.  A metal die was created for stamping the insignia.

A book like this would cost around $240 not including the cost of having a custom die made for the insignia.
