Page size: 6"x 9 and 1/4"
64 blank pages of acid-free, archival Mohawk superfine text paper in off white.
Pages are handsewn in signatures with cotton thread (by sewing the book this way, it will lay open completely flat).
Endpapers are a rose-colored parchment-look paper called "Elephant Hide".
Cover is made from hand-carved mat and binder's boards. This cover has a great feel to it due to the recessed areas that have been carved away and covered in leather. Several gold leaves have been added to the circular areas at the top of each "window".
Carved boards are covered with a dark burgundy pigskin leather which has been worked down into the recessed design. (It is a dark wine color though it may appear more brown in the photos.)
As illustrated above, each door opens to the side of the book, then the inner cover flips up like a notepad cover to reveal the pages.
Made with all archival adhesives.
This book was entirely handmade from start to finish.
This would make a very unique and one-of-a-kind wedding guest book or guest book for other special occasions.
What you are paying for in a book like this is the large amount of time involved in carving out the decorations in the cover design from the board of the cover. You are also paying for the time and care involved in making and assembling a book of this unique construction.
